Climate Change

Climate change is one of the biggest crises facing humanity and the planet. Due to rising global demands, economic growth and population growth, greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise. Climate change will have an unprecedented impact on the planet’s ecosystems and global climate patterns, making weather patterns more extreme and unpredictable affecting human health, biodiversity, food security and global security. It’s estimated that greenhouse gases emissions will need to be reduced by up to 70% by 2050 compared to 2010 levels, if the recommended 20C threshold is to be met.

Progress is happening but time is running out. Global efforts include the development of renewable energy technologies, increased energy efficiency, technology to store carbon underground, protection of existing ecosystems and ‘carbon sinks’ and reforestation. Many of these solutions will need multi-sector, global collaboration to be feasible. Behaviour and lifestyle changes are also needed  by individual consumers, households, industries and businesses.

Here’s some of our latest projects, actions and news from across our network. We bring together corporations, philanthropists, investors and engaged citizens to co-create new solutions through engaging projects, collective actions and showcasing inspiring and thought – provoking initiatives for change.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, commited citizens can
change the world
indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
