Sam Colyer, BA.

Sam is responsible for #TRVSTLOVES, our ongoing series that curates news and moves from across the globe which highlights innovative projects and ideas related to our fields of action.

Sam is particularly interested in topics that explore small businesses implementing remarkable and exciting projects to tackle the climate crisis; she enjoys exploring how their innovation will help change the future of our world.

Alongside this, she links expertise in technology, digital and HR with opportunities for new ways to engage people in meaningful action-led change. Sam’s passion for equal opportunity regularly features in her work where she often focuses on pertinent issues such as how we can solve period poverty and why young activists can make a real difference.

Sam’s educational background is in English literature. Her degree from the University of Southampton uniquely equips her with a storytelling approach which helps her to connect in an engaging way to TRVST’s global audience of motivated and inspired readers.

Her professional career began in investment management and evolved into large scale regeneration projects with a focus on project management and enablement. This background supports her keen interest in the efficacy of business sustainability programs and their impact on people and markets.

Outside of work, Sam is a keen poetry and short story writer. She also likes to get out for regular forest walks and aims to spend as much time by the sea as she possibly can.

Favourite quote:

“Sentimental music has this great way of taking you back somewhere at the same time that it takes you forward, so you feel nostalgic and hopeful all at the same time”.
